Open Settings from the menu under your name, at the bottom of the sidebar (on a phone, tap More). Settings has a menu of its own, under headings: You, Business, Sales, Inventory, Cashflow and Data. You see only the parts for the apps you use. It's also in the app switcher at the top left.
Profile
Change your name and your time zone. Your time zone decides when "today" starts: where the forecast begins, the date new transactions get, and when a planned transaction becomes overdue.
Dates and amounts decides how they're written: English (Canada) or English (United States). More languages will follow.
Password
Change your password by entering your current one and the new one twice. Every other device you're logged in on is logged out, in case someone else knew the old password.
If you only log in with Google, choose Email me a link to set a password to add one.
Two-step verification
Two-step verification asks for a code from your phone after your password, so your password alone isn't enough to get in.
- Enter your password and choose Set up.
- Scan the code with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Microsoft Authenticator, or similar), or type in the key shown beside it.
- Enter the 6-digit code the app shows and choose Turn on.
- Save your backup codes somewhere safe, like a password manager. Each one logs you in once if you don't have your phone. They're shown only once; you can make new ones at any time.
While two-step verification is on, log in with your password, then your code. Google login isn't used for your account. To turn it off, enter your password and choose Turn off.
Admins must have two-step verification on.
Exchange rates
Accounts in other currencies are converted to Canadian dollars with the Bank of Canada's daily rate. To use your own rate for a currency (for example, the rate your bank actually gives you), enter it and choose Use. It's used everywhere until you choose Clear.
