The overview

Checked October 22, 2026

The overview shows where your balances have been and where they're heading. It's the first screen you see in IAPZ Cashflow.

Forecast = your balances today + every planned transaction that's switched on.

Choose what to look at

At the top:

  • Dates. Choose a range: this week, month, or year; the last or next 30, 90, or 365 days; the last or next 3, 6, or 12 months; or your own dates. The arrows step to the range before or after. To begin with, the overview shows the last month and the next three.
  • Accounts. Choose All accounts, a whole type (like all credit cards), or any mix. Everything on the screen follows your choice.

The figures

  • Starting balance: the chosen accounts' combined balance just before the range.
  • Money in and Money out during the range. Money moving between two of the chosen accounts isn't counted; money moving to an account you didn't choose is.
  • Ending balance: where the combined balance is at the end of the range, and how much that is up or down.

Combined balances are in Canadian dollars. Accounts in other currencies are converted at the day's exchange rate.

Warnings

  • Below zero: an account is forecast to drop below zero: when, how low, and when it comes back up. Credit cards aren't included, since a balance owing is normally below zero.
  • Overdue: a planned transaction's date has passed and it hasn't been marked as cleared. It still counts, as if it happens today, so your forecast isn't too rosy.

The charts

  • Balance: a solid line where it has happened, a dashed line where it's forecast. Point at (or tap) the chart to see the balance on any day.
  • Money in and out by month: money in above the line, money out below, and the net as a line. Months still to come are lighter, because they include what's planned.

Choose Table under either chart to read the same numbers as a table.

Transactions

Below the charts is every transaction in the range, newest first: what's planned at the top, then, below the Today line, what has cleared. Each shows the balance after it; a balance below zero is marked with ▼.

  • Click a transaction to open it: change it, mark it as cleared, or move it to another date.
  • Switch it off or on with its switch. The forecast changes straight away, and nothing is deleted.
  • On a computer, point at a planned transaction for quick actions: ✓ marks it as cleared on its date. A notification lets you Undo.
  • Move it by dragging (computer): drag a planned transaction onto another one, and it moves to that day.
  • Press N to add a transaction from anywhere.

Each account on its own

Choose an account in the sidebar to see the same view for just that account: its balance today, its charts, and its transactions with the account's balance after each. Use Edit there to adjust its balance or change its details.

Try out a possibility

Because switching is instant and nothing is deleted, the overview is a safe place to test ideas:

  1. Add what might happen as a planned transaction, like "Sell car" income.
  2. Switch off what would stop, like the car payment series from the sale date onward.
  3. Look at the forecast. Switch things back to undo.
