Connect each of your brands' Stripe accounts, and every payment becomes that brand's sale on its own: what it was for, the customer, any tax Stripe charged, Stripe's fee, the amount deposited, and refunds. IAPZ only reads payments; it can never take or move money.
Connect a Stripe account
Do this for each Stripe account, for example one for each brand.
- In Stripe, go to Developers, then API keys, and choose Create restricted key.
- Name it IAPZ, and give it Read access to: PaymentIntents, Checkout Sessions, Invoices, Charges, Refunds and Tax Rates. Leave everything else as None.
- Create it, and copy the key. It starts with
rk_live_(orrk_test_in Stripe's test mode). - In IAPZ, open Settings, then Stripe, and choose Connect a Stripe account.
- Choose whose account it is: the brand every payment from it belongs to. Paste the key, choose the day to bring in payments from, and choose Connect Stripe.
Paste the key only into IAPZ, never into an email or chat. IAPZ keeps it encrypted and never shows it again. A full secret key (sk_…) is refused, because it could move money.
The Stripe page (in Settings, under Sales) lists your connected accounts. IAPZ checks each one for new payments when you open Sales, if an hour has passed since it last looked. To check straight away, choose Check all now, or open an account and choose Check now. To change an account's brand, open it, choose the brand, and choose Save.
An account shared by several brands
Usually each brand has its own Stripe account, and that's all you need. If several brands take payments through one account, connect it as Shared by several brands. Then IAPZ tells them apart by the tags your apps attach to their payments. For example, Airsoft Canada's payments are tagged ac, and Nozzlet's businessId. Tags are found on the payment, its checkout, and for subscriptions, its invoice, so monthly renewals keep their brand.
On the Stripe page, under Brand rules, choose Add rule: enter the tag, and if you like a value it must have, then the brand.
A payment no rule matches waits under Needs a brand. Sales tells you when any are waiting. Open one to see its amount, customer and tags, choose its brand, and if you like, Always this brand for payments tagged the same way, then Save as a sale. That makes a rule, and any other waiting payments it matches get their brand at the same time.
Taxes
When Stripe works out the tax, IAPZ brings in each tax on its own (for example GST 5% and PST 7%), not just the total. A tax with the same name and rate as one of yours in Settings, Taxes counts as that tax, so your sales from Stripe and the ones you enter add up together. If Stripe only has a total for a payment, it shows as Tax (by Stripe).
To bring older sales' taxes up to date, for example after adding Tax Rates access to the key or adding your taxes in Settings, open the account on the Stripe tab and choose Check again from the start. Each payment is still brought in only once.
Stripe's sales
A sale from Stripe shows From Stripe in the list. On its page you'll see Stripe's fee, any refund, and what was deposited, with a link to the payment in Stripe. Sales from Stripe are changed in Stripe, not in IAPZ: a refund made there shows here the next time IAPZ checks.
Payments from Stripe's test mode are marked Test and never count in your totals or the summary.
To stop bringing in an account's payments, open it and choose Disconnect. Its sales already brought in stay.
